Victim no.2 in delhi gangrape - boyfriend

The other day I read that the Govt is giving 15 lakhs and a govt job for the family of 23 year old rape victim.

Now the boyfriend who was made to see the whole thing and was beaten as well, is also a victim here. Infact he is in a much worse condition than the woman. Only reason being he is alive and she is dead.

His father says he is disturbed and doesn't talk to anyone and also gets high fever during nighttime.

Why the govt has not come forward to help his family also. Is it because he is a MAN??? Doesn't he have any feelings?? Will the women fight for his cause too or will any organisation for men come forward??

Good point raised here..........

I dont think any govt help(money) can bring him back  to normal. Rather than exposing him to media and worst public administrators. it is better to leave him to live and get away this shock.

But you have a point too.

the only reason why she's getting more attention is-she bore more pain(rod insertion) and had a tragic death.however i do agree with you.

actually media and people are selective in whom to support, blame it on our gr8 indian mentality.

she was a 23 yr. old YOUNG girl.If she was a 45 - 60 yr. old woman,or even a child,no one wud have raised so much hue and cry, because young women get more attention india than old women or even children.reason-our media depicts younger women as more fresh and beautiful.even in airlines, younger airhostesses are favoured, even though their job is only to serve the passengers, which a middle aged woman can also do.but.........................

same case in arushi murder case-she was a young chirpy girl from a well to do family, while hemraj is a middle aged man from a poor family.so obviously she gets more attention.

in 2008 mumbai attacks-all the attention was given to victims of TAJ hotel.no attention was given to victims who were shot at the railway station....why?coz they are not as rich as the people who were at taj.

the indian public is fascinated with 2 things-youth+ beauty of a girl & wealth.so someone who has both or even of  these gets more attention.

CONCLUSION- u cant entirely blame the media here-media only covers those people more in whom the aam janta  takes more interest.after all we are a nation which only believes in superficial things like beauty, wealth & power.unless we change our mentality and give more importance to values, ethics, honesty, this will continue.
