What defence can the lessee put up if asked for eviction?

The facts are as follows: Lessee is in possession of the property since 1972. Lease expires by efflux of time but Lessee is still in peaceful possession of the property. Lessor accepts rent from Lessee on a monthly basis as of now. What can the Lessee take as a defence against his eviction in future?

With out an eviction proceeding is started how can the defense be formulated ?

Any  how you can prepare yourself

If he contents that he requires the building for bonafide use you say there is no bona fide use.

You can deny the title of the landlord if your state rent control law does not prohibit so doing.

Any how it is better to wait till he acts
