What happens if contention is not challenged in cross examin

in a written say to a petition, if the respondent points out certain incidents and if the petitioner chooses not to cross examine the given points, then is it implied by the court that the point put forward by the respondent is correct and acceptable????

if a point remains unchallenged by the petitioner or respondent, not taken into cross examination, then does that point becomes automatically proven?
