Whether parties required to give copies of cases cited?

Whether parties required to give the copies of cases cited to opposite party

In any trial the parties cite cases of Superior Courts to prove their cases

Are the copies of the cases so cited required to be given to the opposite parties?

Yes. Normally those cases are reported in law journals. And

you may produce copy of Law reporters.

Sir Venkateshji

what I asked was not where the citations are available but my question is

Are the copies of the cases so cited required to be given to the opposite parties by teh party who cites it?

You have repeated the query here again.  For knowing my opinion to this query you may visit the previous thread.

There is no rule or law as such in this regard. Many times copies are not submitted. But if a dispute arises regarding the applicability of the case itself to the current case it will be desirable to submit a copy. There are cases of misapplication of past judgments to a present case. For instance there is a Supreme Court judgment which says that a parking lot in a co-operative housing society cannot be sold. Many think that the judgment is applicable to each and every case in India. It will be clear that it is not so if a copy of the judgment is available to the lawyers and judges of the present case.
