As per your query!

According to section 125 of Cr. P.C
the liabilities come within this ambit
if any person having "sufficient means" neglects or refuses to maintain:
Sufficient means: the husband must maintain the wife, children and parents.

1. his wife is unable to herself, in that case, the husband is liable to pay the maintenance.

2. his legitimate or illegitimate child, whether married or not, is unable to maintain itself, in that case, liabilities upon the parents, means both the mother and father.

3. his mother or father, unable to maintain himself or herself, in that case, then liabilities upon the daughters or sons.

Hope it clarifies the issues!
