Why do people refuse to talk about sub-judice cases?

Sometimes we read in newspapers that some officer refused to talk more about sub-judice cases. Why is it so? To what extent can one talk about sub-judice cases in public?

Mr.Roy,

When the matter is pending adjudication the courts does not permit interference inthe Administration of justice.
