Why police don't take husband neighbor's statements

In case of 498a FIR it is proved that Indian police blindly favor girl's side.

In my brother case they have not taken our neighbor's statements and they modified our statements as per girl's side wish. Do Indian police have any accountability? To whom husband family can complain ?

Yes, you can complain to the senior Police officers against the guilty cops and even you can go to HC in this regard. As police are not bound to record the statements of neghibours and they are free to record anyone statement during investigation.

Simmi,

How the case should be interrogated is the prerogative of the police but in a way during trial the accused is vested with a valuable right to adduce witnesses in his/her favour in a way if the police is avoiding taking statement there is no denial that you can use these persons for your benefit.

Police favor money and they favor girls. So if a girl/her family pays, then you should understand who is their favorite.

Complaining to senior officers - will only make the police more against you. For you there is no real benefit.

By not taking neighbor's statements' also, no real damage is done to your case.

YOU can arrange for those witnesses in the court, your advocate should help you.

Let police do whatever they want first, then is your turn. So if the case is already registered, just relax nothing to worry

immediately (if you could prevent it then it makes sense to worry).

Rather than trying to complain against the police, try to collect strong evidences against the 498a lady.

That will help you  more

You may file a petition to the High Court under section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code and pray to quash the false complaint and misuse of 498A pending at the Judicial Magistrate Court. Under this section HC enjoys discretionary powers to discharge the defendant only if he has substantial evidences to prove his innocence.
