Wife liability on late husband's liability

Dear Respectful legal members / other members

could any of you , kindly guide me appropriately  on this issue

My sister is blind and works for the state  government and manages her life of her own and after her husbands death staying in our  house

Now certain persons , claims that her husband had borrowed money from him and she is liable for that

What ever the amount her husband  had borrowed ( if any ) is without her knowledge

she claims , she cannot pay , and she does not know anything

is there any act or legal procedure for her defence , if so  kindly share to me , so that it will be more helpful to defend her legally

kindly share any judgements or kindly provide necessary guidance on what needs to be done to protect her

Expecting a faster Assistance from the members

regards

Ask your sister to refuse the claim of creditors. If they take any legal step then claim can be barred by limitation period. If her husband has taken money on his company's name then she will not be liable. It depends on what name and mode her husband has taken money. At the moment there is no need to take any step except refusing the claim. Adv Reeti Shah reeti@corpusjurislaw.com 9930285557
