Wife surety in home loan, but not contributing

My brother and his wife are having legal matrimonial disputes and are staying separately now. Initially When they were together - my brother bought a house on home loan on the assurance of his wife, that she will also contribute. Now the wife is not contributing anything to the home loan emi. what relief does my brother have? Note that wife just signed as co applicant in home loan documents.

what would be her liability in paying the EMI, in the absence of any document about her cintribution.

She is co-applicant or suerty?

She is liable to pay in case of default.

If she is co-applicant the husband may ask her to pay equally.

If workable and bank agrees the husband may sell his share.

Thank you for your reply sir. She is co-applicant. Sorry for not being clear earlier. Can my brother ask his wife to RETROSPECTIVELY pay for the EMI's already paid by him to the Bank?
