withdrawl of writ petition

a joint writ petition for payment of salary and continuation of services was filed by several emloyees. one of them sworn affidavite for himself and  as pairokar of other petitioners. counter and rejoinder affidavits have been exchanged. the pairokar has withdrawn the brief from original counsel and has engaged a new counsel . now he wants to withdraw the writ petition through that subequent counsel. can he do so on behalf of all petitioners? if the counsel insists on calling all petitioners for swearing affidavit, he will loose so many clients as he will be considered as impractical and too much legalistic.

kindly guide the counsel.
