Woman breaks her promise of marriage

I and my girlfriend are in 4 year relation. We love each other unconditionally. We makes promise of marriage. But now she is going to marry a other guy by advice of her family. I want to marry him. Is there any law about it. Can any one suggest me.

Why we don't have this type of law , if men breaks promise then it will rape case. Or if woman breaks promise then there is no law. Why?
