Working and Maintenance of EDRM

Electronic discovery reference models are based on the actual data collection and preservation activities followed in traditional systems. The input module for an EDRM package is made of several small processes like records management, identification, collection and preservation. A large part of these activities are primarily carried out on emails, which are the main evidences in today’s legal hold situations.


The data input into the main module of EDRM is processed, reviewed and analyzed for relevance to legal issues and allocated to different storage areas. The data retrieved from these systems can be used for presentations with various legal counsels. The law firm and the organization’s legal group need to be in constant touch to identify the relevant documents and preserve them. Retrieval from eDiscovery systems can be made easy by using Meta data to identify vital files necessary for legal issues.
