Dear sir,
Can we put workmen contineously in same shift with one day weekly off after 6 working days. i.e. 2nd shift to 2nd shift or one week 1st shift and second week also in 1st shift.or we have to rotate them in shift i .e.1st shift 2nd shift,3rd shift.

Please check if your factory has adopted the model standing orders as provided by the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act OR has formulated its own Standing Orders. In case it is the model standing orders, it only prescribes the manner of communicating it to the workmen and does not restrict the shift fixing. It would be preferable have a mutual agreement on the shift working with the workmen for smooth process.
