1986
constitutional law, administrative and services law, criminallaw, contract and business law, family law, IPR and drafting of legal documentation
Others
Askari Chambers (near Awadh Bar Association) Lucknow High Court premises, Lucknow-226001
Handled several important cases, as Advocate-on-Record (Supreme Court of India), etc. Also published several Papers -- the principles enunciated, for the first timein the said Papers, were subsequently incorporated in important Judgments of Supreme Court/ High Courts. On reply drafted by me, the FIR against Late Dr Sahib Singh Verma and Vinay Katiyar became still-born; on the grounds suggested by me, Rahul Mahajan obtained bail (in drug-abuse case that immediately followed Pramod Mahajan's death) and Sanjay Dutt was freed on Bail (after spending about 19 months in jail) etc. Two of my suggestions were included in the Lokpal Bill passed by Parliament (viz. inclusion of NGOs and Prime Minister). My suggestion on Criminal Reforms wasincluded in Criminal Law Amendment Act 2005; at my suggestion, Supreme Court Rules (SCR 1966) were amended to avoid duplication of the statement of Facts in List of Dates and Events as well as within the body of the Petition; and my proposal for reinterpreting Supreme Court Rules about Advocates-on-Record was published in this Forum (its editing before publication has distorted the grammar). Left Legal Practice and joined Teaching since, in the eyes of common man, legal profession has deteriorated into 'liaisoning'.
