Satyajeet A. Desai is a litigating senior advocate based in Ahmedabad, practicing in the High Court of Gujarat, where his grandfather, S.T.Desai J. presided as the first Chief Justice after the state of Gujarat was formed. He has over 27 years of experience as a litigator. After pupillage under Suresh Shelat, one of Gujarat's top experts, he decided to practice independently in various tribunals and courts in Gujarat. He specializes in Hindu law of marriage, divorce and succession, partnership, tenancy, labour, corporate and securities laws.He is the revising editor since 1990 of India's best selling commentary, Mulla's Hindu law and book on partnership law in India titled S.T.Desai on Partnership. He was a part of the Conference to amend Hindu marriage law which comprised of leading lawyers and ministers. He has served as guest lecturer at various colleges and gatherings including Rotaract club and judges moot courts at Nirma University and Gujarat National Law University. He has appeared on the television for a Gujarat DD Network Program for giving advice related to Hindu Law and Land matters .He has acted as strategic and legal counsel to premier corporates in their forays including Jubiliant Works, Godrej, Jindal, Gopala, Multimedia Consultants, Greenwoods Sterling and Somany Group in private sector, Gujarat university, Anand University, Saurashtra University, Ahmedabad Municipality and Surat Municipality in the public sector.
