The Commission had announced the bye-election to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council from Bahraich Local Authorities’ Constituency vide its earlier Press Note No. 50 dated 8th June, 2012.

 

Now it has been brought to the notice of the Commission that the elections to the Local Bodies of the Bahraich District is in progress and shall be completed on 7th July, 2012. Hence, the Commission has decided to reschedule the earlier programme for holding the bye-election to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council from Bahraich Local Authorities’ Constituency so as to enable that the newly elected members of the Local Bodies are included in the list of electoral roll of Bahraich Local Authority. The revised programme for holding the above mentioned bye-election is given as below:-

    The Model Code of Conduct will come into force with immediate effect in the district(s) in which the above Constituency is comprised in.

Also, there is a casual vacancy in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elected by the members of Legislative Assembly due to the resignation a sitting member Ms. Mayawati.

 The Commission has decided to hold a bye-election to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elected by the members of Legislative Assembly also, according to the following programme:-
