Agreement for Indian Professionals

Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs has initiated Labour Mobility Partnership Agreements (LMPA) with select Countries in the European Union (EU) to facilitate overseas employment of skilled workers from India in those Countries. The LMPA provides an effective framework for bilateral cooperation for maximizing the benefits of labour mobility and minimizing the risks associated with it. An LMPA with Denmark was signed in September, 2009. Steps are underway to conclude similar Agreements with the European Union (EU), Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Sweden. The Agreements will enable both sides to manage migration better.
