Extending Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana to Domestic Helps

The Government has extended the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) to domestic workers across the country. Under the scheme smart card based cashless health insurance cover of Rs. 30000 per annum is provided to a family of five on a family floater bases. The scheme has also been extended to building and other construction workers registered under the Building and other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) Act, 1996, street vendors, beedi workers and MGNREGA workers who have worked for more than 15 days during the preceding financial year.
