Appointment of Protection Officer

Under Section 8(1) of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA), 2005, the State Governments are required to appoint such number of Protection Officers in each district as they may consider necessary. All the State Governments and UT Administrations have appointed Protection Officers.  A Statement showing the number of Protection Officers appointed State-wise is as follows-
