Time Limit for Disposal of Sexual Harrassment Cases

A time-limit has been fixed for the fast-track courts to punish the persons found guilty of sexual harassment of minor girls and boys. Section 11 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 covers sexual harassment upon a child below 18 years of age and under Section 35 (2) of, the Special Court shall complete the trial, as far as possible, within a period of one year from the date of taking cognizance of the offence.
