The Supreme Court of India will consider taking up the letter written by the Unnao rape case victim to Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi on the judicial side.

The letter written by the victim and her family members claimed that they were being threatened by followers of accused BJP MLA, Kuldeep Singh Sengar.

The issue was brought up during the mentioning by Senior Advocate V Giri, who is Amicus Curiae in the case relating to child rape. Giri cited media reports regarding the issue.

CJI Gogoi then remarked that he had not even seen the letter before the media started flashing news yesterday that he did not act upon the letter.

The Unnao rape case took a controversial turn after a lorry without a number plate rammed into the car in which the victim was travelling. The victim and her lawyer have been critically injured, while two of her aunts passed away.

Foul play on the part of BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar - the accused in the rape case - has been alleged by the mother of the victim.
