ABOUT HIMACHAL PRADESH NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY
The Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU, Shimla), was set up by the State Government in the year 2016, by an Act of the Legislature (Act 16 of 2016). The University began working from fifth of October, 2016.
The University had chosen to join CLAT Consortium from the Academic Session 2019-2020. In the year 2018, Prof. Nishtha Jaswal was named as the primary lady Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla.
In a first of its sort, Dr. Nishtha Jaswal and Prof. Paramjit S Jaswal, VC RGNUL, become the principal couple to be Vice-Chancellors of two NLUs at the same time.

The Consortium of National Law Universities was set up on nineteenth August, 2017 with the point of improving the norm of lawful schooling in the country and equity framework through lawful instruction with Prof. R. Venkata Rao, recent Vice-Chancellor, NLSIU as President and Prof. Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor, NALSAR, as Vice-President.
