Delhi HC: Street Dogs Have Right To Food, Citizens Allowed To Feed Them As Long As Rights Of Others Are Not Impinged
The Delhi High Court has observed that street dogs have a Right to Food and citizens have a Right to feed them. A set of guidelines has been passed for the feeding and treatment of street dogs in the community. The decision was given by Justice J R Midha. It has also been stated that such right can be exercised provided that it does not impinge or interfere with the rights of others. It should be ensured that there is no hindrance, annoyance or nuisance caused to the members of the society.

Akhil Gogoi Discharged By NIA Court; Blockades Without Inciting Violence Not A Terrorist Act
The Raijor Dal Chief, Akhil Gogoi, has been discharged by the Special NIA Court set up in Guwahati. Charges had been levied against Akhil Gogoi in the Chandmari Case relating to UAPA, Sedition and other charges under the Indian Penal Code. The decision was given by the Special NIA Court Judge, Justice Pranjal Das. It was stated that blockades from temporary periods without any incitement to violence during protests would not be counted as a terrorist act under the UAPA. As a result, the accused, Akhil Gogoi was granted discharge.

Patna HC Refuses To Take Note Of Public Prosecutor's Appearance Due To Improper Uniform
The Patna High Court has refused to take note of an Additional Public Prosecutor as he had not been attired in the proper uniform. The Bench consisting of Justice Madhuresh Prasad had given this decision. There have been many instances where advocates have not shown up in proper attire. Last week, the Allahabad High Court refused to hear a counsel as he was riding a vehicle at the time of the ongoing video conferencing of the case. Earlier, the High Court of Orissa had imposed a fine for not wearing the Neck Band while presenting arguments before the court.

Centre Amends Tribunal Rules; Allows Advocates With 10 Years Of Experience To Be Appointed As Judicial Members
Amendments have been made by the Central Government in the Tribunal, Appellate Tribunal, and other Authorities (Qualifications, Experience, and other Conditions of Service of Members) Rules, 2020. The appointment of Advocates with 10 years experience as Judicial Members of various Tribunals has been approved. The amendment came into force on June 30, 2021.

The Supreme Court had stated that being the National green Tribunal, it must have some alacrity and concern for the environment. The Bench consisting of Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justice M R Shah had been hearing an appeal due to NGT’s allegations of failure on the part of authorities in preventing the burning of the Baghjan Oil Well which caused massive loss to life and property and damaged the ecosystem of the place.
