Twitter Stripped Of Safe Harbour Immunity Under IT Act For Non-Compliance With It Rules 2021: Goi To Delhi High Court

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, (MeITY) GOI informed the Delhi High Court via an affidavit that the Safe Harbour Immunity under the Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act) is no longer available to Twitter, as it hasn't "fully" complied with the IT Rules, 2021 that was laid out previously this year.

Congress Toolkit Case: Supreme Court Refuses To Entertain PIL, Calls It A Frivolous Petition

No PIL would be looked upon by the Supreme Court of India pertaining to a probe against the Congress and the cancellation of its registration as a political party for allegedly creating a toolkit to tarnish the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with reference to the mismanagement of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“If you don’t like the tool kit, then ignore the tool kit,” was the strong remark made by the bench.

[Defamation Complaint By Mahua Moitra] Delhi Court Dismisses Sudhir Chaudhary’s Plea Against Summons By Trial Court

The Delhi High Court dismissed a revision petition filed by Zee TV Editor-in-Chief, Sudhir Chaudhary. The petition was challenging the summoning order issued to him by the trial court in a defamation case initiated by Trinamool Congress Party MP, Mahua Moitra (Sudhir Chaudhary vs. State). The Court did not find any infirmity in the summons by the Metropolitan Magistrate, Patiala House and left the trial court to proceed on merits.

Bhima Koregaon Case: Father Stan Swamy Passes Away, He Was In Taloja Central Prison For 8 Months Before Hospitalisation In Mumbai

At the age of 84, the elderly trial rights activist Father Stan Swamy was imprisoned in the Bhima Koregaon case passed away in a Mumbai hospital on Monday. Swamy was on a ventilator for some time when the National Human Rights Commission had asked the Maharashtra government to extend all medical assistance to the activist. He suffered from acute Parkinson’s and was also a COVID-19 patient which he contracted during his stay in Taloja Central prison.
