CJI Stresses Need For National Judicial Infrastructure Corporation 

The Chief Justice of India, N V Ramana, announced that a comprehensive proposal for the establishment of the National Judicial Infrastructure Corporation (NJIC) is under preparation. This is being done in order to strengthen the judicial infrastructure and improve access to justice. The CJI also highlighted the poor state of judicial infrastructure in the country.

Presumption U/S 139 Of NI Act Unsustainable If Debt Transaction Not Disclosed In income Tax Return

The Telangana High Court has held that presumption under Section 139 of the Negotiable Instruments Act is unsustainable if there is a failure to show the debt transaction in income tax returns. The decision was given by Justice G Sri Devi. The case was of R.Narender v. YakammaKeloth or Kalyan. The appeal was dismissed by the court. The evidence placed on record by the complainant was not sufficient to prove the case against the accused beyond a reasonable doubt.

Kerala Government Tells SC That Plus One Exams Can’t Be Held Online

The Kerala Government has decided to hold Class XI exams in offline mode and justified its decision by saying that conducting the examinations in online mode will cause prejudice to a large number of students, especially those belonging to the lower strata. A large number of students do not have access to laptops or desktops or even mobile phones.
