SC: Nobody Can Take Benefit Of Mistake Of Court
The case was of Ajai Pal Singh and Others v. State of Uttar Pradesh and Others. The decision was given by Justices MR Shah and AS Bopanna. The Court held that a party cannot take benefit of an inadvertent mistake committed by a court while passing an order.The Court said that the appellants cannot take advantage of the mistake on the part of the High Court.

Gauhati HC Grants Bail To UAPA Accused Held For Glorifying Tehreek-e-Taliban
The case was of Mabool Alam v. State of Assam. The decision was given by Justice Hitesh Kumar Sarma. The Gauhati High Court granted bail to Maqbool Alam booked for praising and glorifying Tehreek-e-Taliban, a terrorist organization.The Court noted that it does not appear to this Court that there was anything such in the posts which would require his further custodial detention.

Retirement Will Not Terminate Mandate Of Dept Officer Appointed As Sole Arbitrator
The case was of M/s Laxmi Continental Construction Co v. State of UP. The decision was given by Justices MR Shah and AS Bopanna. The court held that a department officer, who was appointed as the arbitrator, can continue to preside over the arbitration proceedings even after his retirement.

Upper Limits For Medical Termination Of Pregnancy Extended To 24 Weeks
The Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Act, 2021, came into force with effect from 24th September 2021. The Act extends the upper limit for medical termination of pregnancy to 24 weeks, from the present stipulation of 20 weeks, for certain categories of women which will be defined in the MTP Rules. These categories will include 'vulnerable women' including rape victims.
