DDA scam: Delhi Police Notice To General Category Allottees 1/22/2009 The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police issued notices to 3600 successful applicants in the general category in connection with the DDA housing scam. The EOW, in the notices, has asked for original documents the copies of which were submitted along with the application form. The EOW has also asked the Hyderabad Forensic Laboratory, to which the software used by DDA in the allotment of over 5,000 flats was sent for analysis, to file a report within a week. The EOW is planning to match the details in the software with that of the original documents to ascertain if there was fraud in the allotment of flats in the general category as well. A total of five people have so far been arrested for the alleged irregularities in the allotment of over 5,000 flats. The draw of lots for allotting flats, priced between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 77 lakh, took place December 16. UNI
