Delhi HC: DMRC Gets Possession Of Sealed JVG Building For Its Project 1/24/2009 The Delhi High Court directed the official liquidator and land acquiring agency to hand over the possession of a building, sealed by them, to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for their project to construct a station there. Justice Gita Mittal directed the liquidator of the JVG properties to allow the project to continue and hand over the possession to them for development purpose within ten days. The official liquidator contended that the JVG is a company where public has invested huge funds. There is already a stay on selling of the properties of the defunct company. Mr Anshuman Sood, lawyer for DMRC contended that there is a difference between acquiring and selling. ‘We are acquiring the land for public good, which should be allowed. The building is lying sealed for the last ten years as lot of investors have put in their money in the company.’ Justice Mittal allowed the desealing of the building at Ashok Park and directed the liquidator to give possession to the land acquisition authority who will hand over the possession to DMRC after evaluating the cost of the land. Mr Sood said their Corridor on Inderlok-Mundka line phase-2 is in progress and has to be completed by 2009. The building, which is part of the line has to be acquired to build the Metro station at Ashok Park, he said. UNI
