Sohrabuddin encounter: SC reserves order on 2 cops' bail plea New Delhi, Mar 26 (PTI) The Supreme Court today reserved its order on the bail pleas of two top IPS officials allegedly involved in the fake encounter of gangster Sohrabuddin Sheikh in Gujarat. A bench of Justice Arijit Pasayat, P S Sathasivam and Aftab Alam issued notice to the Gujarat government on the petition filed by Rajasthan cadre IPS officer Dinesh M N and N K Amin, a DSP rank officer in the Gujarat police. Dinesh had allegedly assisted the Gujarat police in the encounter, while Amin has been accused of disposing off the body of Kauser Bi, wife of Sohrabuddin, two days after the killing. Dinesh and Amin has challenged the Gujarat High Court order cancelling the bail granted to them by the trial court. The two along with D G Vanzara, former DIG of anti-terrorist squad, and others are accused in the fake encounter killing of Soharbuddin, facing TADA charges, and the murder of his wife. On Wednesday the apex court heard for over four hours argument on behalf of the two officers. While former Attorney General Soli Sorabjee appeared for Dinesh, senior counsel Nageswara Rao appeared for Amin. However, the Gujarat Government which has faced flak over the killing has supported the High Court's decision to cancel the bail. Senior counsel Mukul Rohtagi appearing for the State told the the court that there was sufficient evidence to indicate the involvement of the two accused officials and since investigation was at a crucial stage they should not be released on bail.
