Delhi HC Denies Permission To Shahabuddin To Attend Parliament 2/16/2009 The Delhi High Court declined permission to Siwan MP Mohammad Shahabuddin to attend the ongoing Parliament Session here saying his case did not come under its jurisdiction. The court directed Shahabuddin, currently lodged at Siwan divisional jail, to approach the Bihar jail as his case was being tried there. Shahabuddin had approached the Delhi High Court seeking permission to attend the Parliament session. Earlier, Pappu Yadav was granted such permission by the Delhi HC but his case was different as he was lodged in Tihar jail which falls under its jurisdiction, the court said. The fourth-term RJD MP facing nearly three dozen criminal cases, including those of kidnapping and murder, was earlier in Bhagalpur jail but was shifted to Siwan jail. He had filed a petition in the Patna High Court seeking its direction to the state government to send him to Delhi-based AIIMS hospital for specialised treatment of his 10-year-old spinal problem, which he claimed had aggravated two days after he was shifted to Siwan from the Bhagalpur jail but his plea was dismissed by the court stating that his whims and fancies could not be entertained.
