Police Considering Action Against Chand Mohammed Alias Chander Mohan, Dated : 20 Feb 2009, 1530 hrs IST, Source : PTI MOHALI, PUNJAB: Text: After recording the statement of Fiza, alias Anuradha Bali, the Punjab police on Friday said it was considering action against her "runaway" husband Chand Mohammed, alias Chander Mohan, for failing to appear before it. While Fiza appeared before police here today after being issued a notice by it, neither Mohan, the former Haryana deputy chief minister, nor his counsel was present before Superintendent of Police (SP-City) Varinder Paul Singh in his office here for recording of statements. Fiza, along with his lawyers, put "facts" concerning her complaint before Singh for about 45 minutes. Singh told reporters that "if Chand Mohammed or his counsel fail to turn up before police, then it will be compelled to take one-sided legal action against him." "We had sent police personnel to Chand's residence at Panchkula asking him to join investigations today, but the guard at his residence told police that he is not present in the house," Singh said. "Chand is not contactable by police...we don't know where he is at present," he said, adding that "police have taken the version of Fiza and on the basis of the facts and proof supplied by her, police is considering to take a one-sided legal action against Chand."
