Arrest Warrant For Raj Thackeray Dated : 22 Feb 2009, 0020 hrs IST, Source : AGENCIES MUZAFFARPUR (BIHAR): Text: A local court in Bihar issued an arrest warrant against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray for his failure to turn up in court to respond the accusation of having hurt Bihari sensibilities by his remarks on the chhath puja festivities. First Class Judicial magistrate Ram Surat directed the Mumbai police to ensure the execution of Thackeray's arrest order at the earliest. The magisterial order came after the petitioner, Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha, pleaded for a warrant on the grounds that Thackeray did not turn up in court two months after the summons had been issued to him. The magistrate acted on a petition filed by Ojha on Thackeray's remarks made on January 31 2008. Ojha had alleged that Thackeray violated Section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code. The chief judicial magistrate J K Sinha took cognisance of his complaint on December 15 last year and referred the matter to the court of magistrate Ram Surat.
