SC grants 4 weeks to Modi govt for suggestions to SIT report 3/2/2009 The Supreme Court granted four weeks time to the Narendra Modi government to give suggestions to the report of the Special Investigation Team headed by R K Raghavan to investigate 10 major cases of the 2002 Gujarat communal riots. A special bench, comprising Justices Arijit Pasayat, P Sathasivam and Aftab Alam, adjourned the hearing till April 13 of the NHRC petition. SIT has been set up by the Supreme Court to investigate 10 major cases of 2002 Gujarat communal riots which had rocked the state following the Godhra train burning incident in February 2002, in which 59 kar sevaks were burnt alive in Bogie S-6. Major cases include Gulbarg Society, Naroda Patia, Naroda Gram, Sardar pura and Godhra. UNI
