CJI: Bar & benches should work for betterment of judicial system Chief Justice of India (CJI) K G Balakrishnan appealed to the members of legal fraternity to cooperate in betterment of the judicial system in the country. Speaking as chief guest at golden jubilee function of the Allahabad High Court, the CJI said without cooperation of the bench, bar and other officers of legal fraternity, cases cannot be solved. About the vacancies in lower judiciary, Mr Balakrishnan said, ‘We are taking urgent steps to fulfill the vacancies in lower judiciary.’ Addressing a large gathering of judges, advocates and judicial officers, he appealed to have great administration with combined efforts. ‘It is our duty to have an administration of justice not only in Court, but also in other fields of the system,’ said the CJI. About the appointment of judges in the High Court, he said infrastructural facilities were being provided and vacancies would be filled as soon as it would be completed. UNI
