A PIL was filed today in the Delhi High Court seeking ban on the controversial serial ‘Sach Ka Samna’ being telecast on Star Plus as he said it was affecting the family system and eroding social values.
The PIL filed by one Mr Deepak Maini against Star Plus and its owner Siddharth Basu for airing the game show which he says contains vulgarity and so much freedom that the social values of the society are being ignored.
Mr Maini contented that on account of globalisation and commercialisation there are many changes in the society but this des not mean that the vices of the society should be brought to public so as to effect the minds of those who are not aware of them.
Mr N S Dalal lawyer for the petitioner has also made the government as a party in the petition and sought that the Government should frame some sort of guidelines so that some decency is maintained by the TV channels, Mr Dalal contended.
Mr Maini has urged the court that his fundamental right to peaceful living is being affected as the episodes impacts on the minds of the people therefore it should be stopped.
The Petition will come up for hearing tomorrow.
