A case of insult to national language Hindi and treason has been registered in a court here against MNS supremo Raj Thackeray.
The case, registered under sections 295A, 298, 153A and 121 of Indian Panel Code by lawyer Hamid Raza Khan and others, will be heard on November 16. In the complaint, it is alleged that Raj Thackeray in a letter had threatened the MLAs not to take the oath of office in Hindi, which is an act similar to treason.
The local court had issued non-bailable warrant twice against Raj Thackeray over insulting ‘Chhath Puja’ on the writ filed by Mr Raza. He was subsequently able to secure relief in the matter from the Apex court.
