RJD MP Pappu Yadav, serving life sentence in Tihar jail, has been given permission by the Delhi High Court on Thursday to participate in the trial of strength in the Lok Sabha on 22nd July while RLD leader Ajit Singh remain non committal on the voting. Yadav has been convicted by the court on the charges of murdering CPI(M) MLA Ajit Sarkar on 14th June 1998. Justice G S Sistani accepted Yadav's plea to allow him participate in the trust vote after his advocate contended that he had earlier been allowed by the court to cast his ballot in the Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections. The Bench also directed the jail authorities to arrange proper security for the MP from Madhepura in Bihar. Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has been in Tihar jail since February 2005. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by a trial court in Ajit Sarkar murder case on 14th February, this year.
