Jharkhand High court directed the state government not to execute any sale deed in favour of the Civil Services Officers Cooperative Society (CSOCS) which reportedly purchased 78.32 acres of gair majaruwa malikana hak land at Sanga area in Kane block of the state capital.
The division bench comprising Justice M Y Iqbal and R R Prasad passed the order while hearing a Public Interest Litigation filed by one Vishal Kumar.
The court also directed the Accountant General P K Prasad to file the original papers of the entire transaction of the land given to the society.
The High Court directive followed a public interest litigation against the alleged transfer of government land in favour of CSOCS, a body of top IAS and IPS officials of the state.
Court had directed the petitioner to seek details of the exact market rate of land.
The petitioner pleaded that land belonged to the government and could only be used for public purposes and could not be transferred to any individual or society.

The land was registered in favour of the society on January 28.
