Agreement between India & Israel

The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for signing and ratification of the Agreement on transfer of sentenced persons between the Government of India and the Government of State of Israel. This would enable the prisoners to be near their families and would help in the process of their social rehabilitation as the Israeli convicted prisoners could be transferred to their home country and prisoners of Indian origin could be brought to India to serve the remaining part of their sentence.
