Rehabilitation of Bonded Labourers under The Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976

The Government has come up with a Central Sector Scheme for Rehabilitation of Bonded Labourer – 2016 to make the implementation of the Act more effective. 

The Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976 and the Central Sector Scheme for Rehabilitation of Bonded Labourer, 2016’ envisages the district administration to seek collaboration of civil society organizations in implementation of the objectives of the Scheme. 

The Central government held a National Level Workshop on 4th – 5th August, 2016 of all stakeholders including the district administration to make them aware of the scheme. 

This information was given by Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, the Minister of State (IC) for Labour and Employment, in reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
