Pune court has sent accused lawyer Sanjeev Punalekar to a Judicial Custody. Sanjeev Punalekar was accused of advising Sharad Kalaskar, one of the shooters in the case, to destroy the firearms used in the commission of the crime.

Dabholkar was shot dead in Pune on August 20, 2013. Sanatan Sanstha lawyer Punalekar and his assistant Vikram Bhave were arrested by the CBI on May 25. Additional Sessions Judge R M Pande granted Punalekar's custody to the CBI till June 23, after the agency recovered some "incriminating documents" from the lawyer's laptop and there was a requirement of interrogation.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday told the court that it does not require any further custody of Punalekar, following which the judge sent the accused in judicial custody till July 6.
