Earlier in August, Shehla Rashid, a social activist and leader of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement, raised question on the mobilization of troops in the valley of Kashmir in regard with the abrogation of Article 370 and also claimed human rights violation by the troops in valley.

A case was registered against her for passing seditious remarks on armed forces on twitter. Rashid claims that the FIR was an deliberate move to silence her opinion, as a political activist she was doing her job on behalf of the Kashmiri people.

Additional Session Judge Pawan Kumar Jain at Patiala house Court granted interim bail on grounds that the matter requires a proper investigation in detail. The Court has announced the next hearing on November 5th and in meanwhile issued direction to cooperate with the investigation.
