The Rajasthan High Court on 24th of April, while hearing through video conferencing, adjourned a bail plea matter as the advocate appeared in Baniyan, on the ground that petitioner’s counsel was not in proper uniform.

The HC said that “even through video conferencing a decorum of the court is required to be maintained” and that lawyers must appear in proper uniform

Under Section 49(1) of the Advocates Act, the Bar Council of India has prescribed the standard of professional conduct and etiquette that shall be observed by the advocates.

It also includes the provision of wearing uniform while pleading for their clients.
