Former Attorney General Advocate Mukul Rohatgi has contributed his share towards helping the Delhi government to enable the conducting of Coronavirus tests at a faster pace.

Mr. Rohatgi contacted Shri Satyendar Jain, Minister of Health, Delhi to findout what he could provide in a “small way” to help the government. The Government was in dire need to launch a mobile laboratory so that it could cover a wider area and larger population. For the same, an old bus had to be converted at the earliest, with built-in medical facilities to conduct the tests. He was also informed that there was difficulty in acquiring Personal Protective Equipment for the frontline health workers. Subsequently, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and District Magistrate (South)also helped him contribute the funds and supply the needsto establishthe moving test laboratory and to acquire over5000 PPE kits, which will be delivered within few days.

The Senior Advocate also added that the Corona Rapid Testing Mobile Clinic, as it is called, would be functioning like a small hospital moving from one cluster to another, facilitating extensive testsduring this period of lockdown when people are prevented from travelling.

Rohatgi, who had earlier contributed towards the PM CARES fund and several other NGOs, called on the lawyer community to step up into the frontline by contributing whatever they can, as he identifies the current unprecedented situation as the right time to repay the society, from where every lawyer earns.
