Supreme Court Explains Applicability Of Res Judicata Between Co-Defendants
The case was of Union of India v. S Narasimhulu Naidu. The decision was given by Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Hemant Gupta. It was held that the principle of Res Judicata would not apply if the subject matter of the suit is not same as that of earlier suit. For Res Judicata to apply, the matter in the former suit must have been alleged by one party and either denied or admitted, expressly or impliedly by the other.

The case was of C/M, Madarsa Anjuman Islamia Faizul Uloom and Another v. State Of U.P. and 3 Others. The matter was argued by Sr. Advocate, G. K. Singh, and Advocate Mohammad Ali Ausaf. The State Government has been directed to file a counter affidavit within a period of four weeks. The plea was heard by the bench of Justice Ajay Bhanot. The court is considering issues based on religious educational institutions and the role of and interplay between the State Government and such institutions within the framework of the Constitution.

Cow Should Be Declared National Animal, Cow Protection Is The Fundamental Right Of Hindus
The Allahabad High Court has observed that cow should be declared as national animal and cow protection should be kept as a fundamental right of Hindus. The observation was given by Justice Shekhar Yadav. The applicant had, after committing theft of the cow, killed it, beheaded it and its meat was also kept along with it. The accused was charged under Section 379 of the IPC (Punishment of Theft) and Sections 3, 5, 8 of the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act.

The case was of Airports Authority Employees Union Regd No. 3515 v. Union of India. Additional Solicitor General M B Nargund appeared for the Union Government. Referring to Section 12 of the Airports Authority of India Act, it was submitted that the premises of the airport can be leased but the entire airport cannot be given away to a private person for operations.
