Calcutta HC: Bias And Malicious Prosecution Cannot Be Ruled Out
The Calcutta High Court has stayed three cases registered against the BJP MLA Suvendhu Adhikari and has ordered no coercive actions to be initiated. The probe was connected to the death of his bodyguard, Subhobrata Chakraborty. The Court has also ruled that a transfer of investigation can be sought even by an accused and such a relief is not restricted only to the victim of a crime.

The Apex Court has clarified that students appearing for CBSE Private, Patrachar and 2nd Compartment exams for Class 12 can apply for higher admissions under the UGC and AICTE provisionally, even before their results are declared, subject to undertaking to produce their results before the concerned college within one week of the declaration of results.
