Farm Laws Will Be Repealed In Upcoming Parliament Session

The farm laws, which were introduced last year and which had led to nationwide farmer protests would be repealed by the Central Government. The reason for such a step is that even though the laws were enacted for the benefit of farmers, the Government was not able to convince them, and a section was opposing the laws. Numerous negotiations and meeting had taken place between the two contending sides. In 2021, the Supreme Court had even put a stay on the same.

Compassionate Appointment Policy Prevalent At The Time Of Employee's Death Applies, Not The Subsequent One

The name of the case was State of Madhya Pradesh v. Ashish Awasthi. The decision was given by Justices MR Shah and Sanjiv Khanna. In this case, the court held that the policy which was prevalent at the time of the employee’s death would be considered for the appointment on compassionate ground. The judgment of the High Court was set aside.

Sexual Intent, Not Skin-To-Skin Contact Is The Main Ingredient Of Offence Of Sexual Assault

The controversial “skin-to-skin” POCSO judgment of the Bombay High Court has been reversed. In its recent observation, the Bench has held that the main ingredient of the offence of sexual assault under Section 7 of the Act was "sexual intent" and not "skin to skin" contact. The decision was given by a bench comprising Justice UU Lalit, S Ravindra Bhat and Bela Trivedi. The name of the case was Attorney General for India v. Satish and Another.
