MUMBAI ATTACKS :POLICE TO FILE CHARGESHEET IN 60 DAYS 21 Dec 2008, 2300 hrs IST, PTI PANAJI: Maharashtra's Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam on Sunday said that the state police will club all the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack cases together and chargesheet would be filed within two months. "All these cases, although have happened at different locations, were with the same motive and hence would be clubbed together. The state police will file the chargesheet within stipulated time of two months without any delay," Nikam said. The Special Public Prosecutor was down in Goa to attend a family function of former union law minister Ramakant Khalap in Mapusa town, 10 kms away from here. "In this case, we have solid evidence," Nikam said refusing to divulge against whom the evidence exists. Nikam was speaking to media for the first time after his name was announced as Special Public Prosecutor for Mumbai terror attack cases. He said that the case is a challenge. "I accept it as a challenge. This is a challenge because not only would I establish guilt of Ajmal Kasab, (the only terrorist caught in Mumbai terror attacks) but at the same time priority is to establish how foreign powers are involved in the state sponsored terrorism," the lawyer, who successfully presented 1993 serial bomb blast cases, said. "The priority is also to establish how Lakshar-e-Toiba is training youths in Pakistan. This is a proxy-war," Nikam said. Nikam said that the indiscriminate firing on the crowd was also the brief given (by masters in Pakistan) to those involved in 1993 serial blasts. "In 1993 serial bomb blast case, one of the accused had confessed that they were asked to fire indiscriminately at crowds ... But their attempts could not be successful," he said. When questioned, Nikam offered no comments on whether Mumbai attack has any relation with Malegaon blast.
