The government has sanctioned Rs 3.42cr for installation of close circuit cameras and other security apparatus in the court premises, a senior police officer said. The administrative committee of the court had earlier forwarded requested the government to step up security arrangements at the High Court premises, including its Lucknow bench. To keep a tab on the movements of people visiting the court premises, CCTVs connected to sophisticated monitors will be installed, police said. The system will provide a clear view of activities across the campus and help the security personnel in maintaining a watchful eye, they said. High-speed dome cameras with zoom facility would be installed to obtain still photographs of any spot, officer said, adding that the system would be put in place soon. Following serial blasts in the sessions courts in Lucknow, Faizabad and Varanasi last year, security measures in the courts have already been beefed up. The officer said that recent Mumbai attacks necessitated the need for improving the surveillance system at important places like the High Court, which witnesses heavy movement of people.
