MADRAS HC DIRECTS GOVT TO RE-ADMIT TWO LAW STUDENTS TO HOSPITAL 12/24/2008 The Madras High Court directed Tamil Nadu government and Saidapet sub jail authorities to readmit two students of Dr Ambedkar Government Law College to Government General Hospital to continue their treatment of serious injuries they sustained during a group clash on November 12. The Justice K Suguna went through the medical reports filed by eminent orthopedic surgeon Dr Marthandam and neuro surgeon Dr John Reginald, appointed by the High Court to re-examine the condition of the two students, and gave the above direction. According to the medical report, one of the two students K Arumugam should undergo a second surgery in his skull as he was unable to carry out normal functions on his own. The other student K Bharati Kannan, who sustained multiple fractures in his spinal cord and the entire body, required continuous treatment. The judge also directed the authorities to readmit the two students in the Government General Hospital by tomorrow for 30 days for continuous treatment. UNI
